Senior Engineer
This position requires a Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of experience as a Senior Novell Engineer. Must be experienced and proficient in Novell Enterprise Messaging software and Operating Systems in a networked environment. Linux infrastructure background is preferred. OES is a plus. Must have strong experience with Novell 4x and 5x. Candidate must possess the ability to maintain and troubleshoot networking devices and infrastructure. Able to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues to completion. Must be detail oriented and possess strong customer service and communication skills. Must be able to communicate well both written and orally. Ability to work independently is a must, and needs to be able to work well within a team. Occasionally may be leading a team - leadership skills and experience are important. Experience with System Development Life Cycles (SDLC), Work Breakdown Schedules (WBS) and related documentation processes preferred. Certifications are a strong plus.
Able to work 24 X 7 on-call, occasional night and weekend work is possible.
Local travel (1 –2 hours each way) is required.
Mid Level Engineer
Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
Experience with Novell NetWare is a must. OES is a plus. Novell CNE and/or Microsoft MCSE certifications are helpful. Proficient at logging into multiple Edirectory trees and Windows Active Directory domains. Can troubleshoot system issues and maintain a high standard of customer service and satisfaction. Three years experience working directly with Novell Netware, GroupWise, ZEN, Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003, SQL, Citrix, Linux; Network cabling and communications hardware and software. Also with network hardware such as Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, Intel HP/Compaq based Servers, and Firewalls; Network software. Ability to troubleshoot and upgrade existing operational environments consisting of workstations in wide range of environments including Windows, Netware, and associated file and print servers running Windows 2000, Novell 4.x and 5.x and Enterprise Messaging software consisting of GroupWise, Exchange, ccMail and Lotus Notes mail hubs and gateways. Networking infrastructure routers, DSU/CSUs, bridges, switches, gateways and protocol converters. Peripheral devices can consist of printers, PDAs, Blackberries, and other hand held devices.
Responsible for documentation of procedures and policies in the customer environment. Good communication skills are important, both written and verbal. Can work well independently and able to work well in a team environment.
Certifications are a strong plus.
